About The Painted Alpaca

A Passion For Fiber Arts. And Alpacas, Of Course!
My name is Diana. I live on a ranch with my husband Jim. I have been in love with fiber arts since I was a child.
In 2016, we purchased our first 3 female alpacas. I retired a year later to become a fiber producer and hand dyer. My passion for fiber arts and my desire to share this with others lead me to start The Painted Alpaca.
Today, our alpaca herd has grown by leaps and bounds, nearly 40 total. We recently added debouillet sheep (fine wool) to our ranch.
In 2021, The Painted Alpaca became a GO TEXAN partner. This means that our fiber and yarn products are either grown, created or improved on here in Texas. We proudly support Texas fiber producers.
The Painted Alpaca offers products for all fiber artists. We have natural colors as well as hand-dyed colors. My goal is to inspire fiber artists and continue educating people on fiber arts.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire current and future generations of fiber artists. We strive to have the best products available as well as offer classes to encourage continued education in the fiber arts fields.
